Organized by Caixa forum, The World of Islam displays some 190 objects made of wood, stone, gold, bronze, ivory, glass, ceramics, fabric, parchment and paper which have been selected from the collection of the future Aga Khan Museum of upcoming construction in the city of Toronto, Canada.
The exhibition presents a wide range of artistic creations from Romans to Persians, the Turks to the Chinese, and the North Africans to Indians.
“Over the centuries Islam has embraced many civilizations and is by nature pluralistic,” collection coordinator Mireya Gubarn told Press TV.
“This collection aims to exhibit objects from every region and period created from every kind of material in the Muslim world.
