the title of Michelle Starr’s December 31, 2020 article in Science Alert:
“This Epic Space Cloud Is Nicely Summing Up Our Farewell to 2020“
for fake consolation the above title is fine
but after serious analysis, that comfort vanishes
over 1.8 million people died worldwide, almost 20% in US
over 13 thousand lost lives on the last day of 2020
2021 will add substantially to the above casualty figure
just a middle finger for such devastation and
wretchedness of the past 10 months …
lives lost, economic misery, social misery
poverty, small businesses forced shut …
seems inadequate … disproportionate …. unequal …
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope image was released in 2007
Starr’s article doesn’t mention year of the image at all
the article creates an impression the image was released yesterday
not so …
