Did people gain anything from the debate should be the question

who will win?
who will lose?
who won ?
who lost?

presidential debates are treated like a boxers’ ring
candidates’ postures, gestures, movements
smiles, sighs, sarcasm, screams
are duly noted, scrutinized, analyzed

the verdict was announced:

Trump is the loser
Clinton is the winner

Lazaro Gamio and Kevin Uhrmacher went to extra length
they took 90 images of Clinton and 90 of Trump
each photo was a composite of 1 minute of footage
(it was a 90 minute debate)

Multiple seconds of footage…

…are blended together into images like the ones shown above PHOTOS/Lazaro Gamio and Kevin Uhrmacher/The Washington Post

Uhrmacher and Gamio are careful
not to pass much judgement
but for most of the dominant news media
Clinton was the winner

as far as showing control over oneself
and sticking to the subject matter was concerned
Clinton was the winner

but is that the correct yardstick?

if a stoic person is not displaying her/his true self and
despite the overwhelming record
of Clinton‘s intentional blunders in Libya and Honduras
can we call her the winner?
