Dicks and empires ultimately head south

“1898 political cartoon: “Ten thousand miles from tip to tip.” referring to the expansion of American domination (symbolized by a bald eagle) from Puerto Rico to the Philippines following the Spanish–American War; the cartoon contrasts this with a map showing the significantly smaller size of the United States in 1798, exactly 100 years earlier.” CARTOON/TEXT/Wikipedia

dicks gone north, after work done, go south

the process continues until Nature allows

once Nature intervenes, dicks reside south

same is true of empires

the fallen empires reside south for a while …

then, like dicks, disappear from the scene forever

history has seen the rise and fall of empires

but Wikipedia doesn’t list the world’s most violent empire — the US

it works as an empire though, mostly, without occupying countries

it’s a paramount imperial power, which exerts hegemony all over the globe

unlike dicks, empires are not always the victims of Nature

empires unravel due to various factors including natural causes:

  • internal decay – through strife, divisions and inequality
  • overstretching of its power worldwide
  • too many overt or covert wars — either on its own or through proxies
  • excessive greed
  • ignoring its population needs
  • rise of other powers — bound to happen
  • droughts, floods, other natural calamities

the US is heading south too, but it may take a little longer

the viagra-induced erection takes longer to droop
