billionaires openly choose the politician or politicians they want to run
DeSantis has got his billionaire too, that is, Robert Bigelow
but in several polls, he is distant second to former president Donald Trump
July 11, 2023 Morning Consult poll showed him at 17% vs. Trump’s 56%
on July 28, 2023, Florida Governor DeSantis told Megyn Kelly
“I’m going to do what’s right for the country. I don’t think it would be good for the country to have an almost 80-year-old former president [Donald Trump] go to prison.”
“… you know, [former President Gerald] Ford pardoned [former President Richard] Nixon, took some heat for it, but at the end of the day, it’s like, do we want to move forward as a country or do we want to be mired in past controversies?”
(from six other candidates, four would pardon Trump but two won’t
provided that any of the seven Republican candidates get elected)
is DeSantis really worried about 80-year-old Trump going to prison?
no way, DeSantis is equally or more cruel than Trump

DeSantis changed it to 15 weeks in April 2022
then in April 2023, he changed it to 6 weeks …
many girls/women are not even aware of pregnancy at 6 weeks
coming back …
so it’s not out of concern for old age that he would want to pardon Trump
it’s pure self-interest that motivated DeSantis to talk about pardon
he wants to show Trump supporters that he cares for former POTUS
not to forget that he’s also reminding Trump that he’s old and so should quit
twofold goal of DeSantis:
getting Trump supporters on his side
and Getting Trump out of his way
but nothing seems to be working for DeSantis
August 1 poll has DeSantis losing 2% vs. Trump gaining 2%
Trump is leading DeSantis by 43 percentage points — 58% vs. 15%
things could change because there are still 15 months left for the election
however, to beat Trump won’t be an easy task
then again, DeSantis is also aware of how tough the battle would be
also the heavy cost involved
DeSantis campaign has laid off 38 employees or 1/3rd of the staff in July
