spying has been around for a long long time

spying through balloons had been around since 1794

so the Chinese surveillance is neither new nor shocking

Chinese surveillance balloon was shot down by the US on Feb. 4, 2023

it was unmanned balloon flying at the height of 60000 feet

China: it was a weather balloon & the “westerlies” (winds) caused it to drift

US State Department spokesperson Ned Price:

“In some ways it doesn’t matter, and I’m not going to opine on what the PRC (People’s Republic of China) may or may not have intended, but in key ways it doesn’t matter. It’s completely immaterial. It’s immaterial because this was a high-altitude surveillance balloon that did violate our airspace. It did violate international law.”

Biden said the US intelligence believes the other three balloons were

“most likely balloons tied to private companies, recreation or research institutions.”

President Biden said:

“We’re not looking for a new Cold War.”

if no intention of a cold war with China, why shoot down the balloon?

why not talk with China about it and create some understaning

but the US will have to stop its surveillance on China & in South China Sea

of all the countries, the US has the biggest global network of spying

the US has more than 750 military bases in at least 80 countries

right at this moment, the US Marine Corps & Navy are in the S China Sea

China has solid reason to shoot down manned US planes

because it’s in their territory and around their country

the US has gone to the South China Sea — the China didn’t come US to drill

the US is looking for an excuse to create trouble and then to enhance it
