Was inflicting atom bombs on Japanese cities necessary? (part 2)

Once the American forces had Japan under their military control, they imposed censorship on all such images including those from the conventional bombing of Tokyo; this prevented the distribution of Yamahata’s photographs. These restrictions were lifted in 1952.” PHOTO/Wikipedia

World War II began on September 1, 1939 in Europe

the most vicious war the world had ever witnessed ended in August 1945

history’s most destructive bombing raid occurred on March 9-10, 1945

the United States Air Force firebombed Japan’s capital Tokyo

it bombed the most densely populated civilian areas of that city

330 B-29 bombers from the US carried out these savage attacks

they dropped nearly 500,000 cylinders of napalm/petroleum jelly

half of Tokyo was flattened; 100,000 people were killed

a million were crippled; a million lost their homes

18% of Tokyo’s industry & 63% of it’s commercial area was decimated

267,000 buildings were gutted

Italy’s Mussolini was murdered on April 28, 1945

Germany’s Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945

3rd major Axis power Japan now alone, wanted to surrender

Japanese Foreign Minister Shigenori Togo:

Unconditional Surrender is the only obstacle to peace.”

unconditional meant trial & execution of Japanese emperor

most Japanese revered emperor as tenno, that is, “heavenly emperor”

a descendant of the sun goddess Amaterasu

killing him would have been akin to “the crucifixion of Christ to us”

as a study by MacArthur’s Southwest Pacific Command put it

Truman’s government was well aware of the Japanese surrender pleas

China’s supreme leader Mao Zedong once said:

political power grows out of the barrel of a gun

US President Harry Truman’s translation:

super power comes through the explosion of atom bombs

Truman knew Japanese had lost; yet bombed their cities

Hiroshima on August 6, 1945; Nagasaki on August 9

with those 2 bombs 200,000 lives were lost, but

US became the Super Power

US Commander in Chief Truman’s Chief of Staff, Admiral Leahy wrote:

“It is my opinion that the use of this barbarous weapon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender because of the effective sea blockade and the successful bombing with conventional weapons… My own feeling was that in being the first to use it, we had adopted an ethical standard common to the barbarians of the Dark Ages. I was not taught to make wars in that fashion, and that wars cannot be won by destroying women and children.”

did Truman & his co-criminals ever think about the victims

their suffering, their misery, their hopelessness, …

what happened to the 10-year-old boy with his lifeless brother

Masanori Muraoka, a year older than the boy, knew the boy

and tried to find him, but was totally unable to locate him

perhaps he lived a miserable life and passed away

maybe he lost his mental balance and went insane

or who knows, he might have committed a suicide

none of the above possibilities can be ruled out

for a child who had gone through such horror, at such a tender age

the US produced many more such weapons

US monopoly over nuclear weapons lasted till August 29, 1949

the Soviet Union became the 2nd super power with the nuke test

today nine countries possess nuclear weapons

some latest nukes are 3,000 times more potent than the 1945 bombs

the world has 12,700 nuclear warheads, some are way more powerful

the impact of nuclear blast is utterly devastating

today, the world is again on the verge of a third world war

Russia, the former Soviet Union, has waged a war against Ukraine

the US, extremely powerful-more than Russia-could stop the war

the US, hell bent on destroying Russia is sending arms to Ukraine

the Catholic Pope Francis expressed his hope in November 2019

“Together with you, I pray that the destructive power of nuclear weapons will never be unleashed again in human history.”

in Nagasaki, the Pope talked about human’s sadist capability

“This place makes us deeply aware of the pain and horror that we human beings are capable of inflicting upon one another.”

the Pope has been disturbingly affected by the 10-year-old boy’s picture

he has ordered the picture be printed & distributed

the Pope wants the words “the fruit of war” on the back of the picture

Pope Francis requested that ‘the fruit of war’ be written on the back of the card, accompanied by his signature IMAGE/Daily Mail
“A boy waiting for his turn in the crematorium for his dead brother on his back. It is the photo taken by an American photographer Joseph Roger O’Donnell after the atomic bombing in Nagasaki. The sadness of the child is expressed only in his bitten lips and blood oozing'” IMAGE/Daily Mail

then there is another Catholic, US President Joe Biden

six year younger than 85-year-old Pope Francis

the Pope wants peace, Biden wants wars

the Pope wants elimination of nuclear weapons

‘Today, is it legitimate to keep nuclear arsenals as they are? Or to save creation, to save humanity today, isn’t it necessary to go back?’

Biden’s 2023 war budget is $813.3 billion; $50.9 billion is for nukes

the Pope should declare Biden & Nancy Pelosi as enemies of humanity

(Pelosi, a Catholic, is itching for a war, that is, actually a third world war)

the Pope should expel these warmongers from the Catholic fold …
