Living under subhuman condition, the Palestinians revolted in May 2021. Over 250 Palestinians died, which included 66 children, whereas the occupying power Israel had altogether 12 fatalities:10 adults and 2 children. As usual, the US cruelty was there for all to see when US President Joe Biden blamed Palestinians and excused Israel’s violence as a “right to defend itself.”
The US led Saudi war against Yemen caused over 370,000 casualties by the end of 2021, according to the United Nations report.
One could go on a and on …
The US leaders continously commit tons of monstrous crimes within and without the United States warring or supporting others who are warring or are encouraged to war. But it never shows any remorse. It seemed like the US was following Pakistani poet Qateel Shifai‘s cautious couplet:
meiN ashkoN mein sAre jahAN ko bahA duN / magar mujh ko rone ki Adat nahiN hai
I could drown the entire world in tears / but I am averse to crying
Lo and behold, on 24 February 2022, the world got overwhelmed with white Westerners’ tears, grief, complains, sanctions, and what not.
But how did it happened?
Thanks to Russia whose US provoked invasion of Ukraine in February 2024 made US NATO countries to shed crocodile tears overwhelming the world.
Ilhan Omar, a progressive member of the House, pointed out in March 2022, the US racism in its treatment of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing 7 year old war against the poor Yemenis vis a vis the Russia”s war against Ukraine.
“Our response to Putin’s immoral war shouldn’t be to strengthen our relationship with the Saudis who are currently causing the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet in Yemen.
Yemenis might not matter to some geopolitically but their humanity should. This is wildly immoral act.”
The US doesn’t give a damn about Omar and others who point out the hypocrisy the US applies in dealing with atrocities and wars of friendly countries and those the US considers “enemy” countries. Many human beings exercise or indulge in some or activity or sport to stay in shape. Same thing is observed in older people too so that the body parts don’t get stiff. The US do military exercises around the world to stay in shape, that is, to maintain its global hegemony.
The Ukrainians are dying while the white Westerners never miss a chance to shed fake tears or blast Russian atrocities. What is missing though is a peace proposal with an offer of negotiations. The US could do this, it has the power to do, and end the war, misery, deaths, destruction, inflation, etc. But it won’t do it; the US leaders’ minds have submerged under the intoxication of power. If it were a child, you could take him/her to a doctor — the superbully you can’t.
