India announces financial assistance of US$100m to Maldives

As part of the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, government of India has announced financial assistance of US $100 million to Maldives to help in its development process.

The High Commission of India informed that the formal signing of the agreement is expected once bilateral consultations are over, during the visit of the Prime Minister.

On Monday, an advance of US $30,000,000 was handed over to Minister of Finance and Treasury, Ahmed Inaz by the High Commissioner of India to Maldives, Dnyaneshwar M Mulay.
