balancing a very bad news with a bit of happy one
is an art of objectivity performed regularly
by people in power trying to soothe the to be victims
Obama did the same last night
in his jobs creation speech
he proposed to raise taxes on the rich
(which many Republicans don’t like)
and recommended to “reform” Medicare
(which some of the Democrats don’t like)
the rich won’t feel anything
by paying some of the long overdue tax
but the medicare and medicaid recipients
will feel a great deal of pain
