Hey folks!
Happy Asian American Pacific Islander American Heritage Month – Lots of great gigs happening in NYC for MAY2011 (look left).
Just got back from criss-crossing the U.S. in APR2011 for State of the Word @ University of Southern California (4/3),Tuesday Night Cafe in L.A. (4/5), University of Wisconsin at Madison (4/7), Sacred Words Cafe @ NJ Performing Arts Center (4/8), Middlebury College in VT (4/13), University of Virginia, Charlottesville (4/14), Legacy Cafe & Books (4/23) & NATWA II in St. Louis (4/24), 2011 Womyn of Color Conference at University of California-Santa Cruz (4/30).
I feel so blessed to be able to share poetry and heartfelt convo’s across the land. To all the presenters, audiences, and supporters from state to state – Thank you!
Exciting news for MAY2011:
My spoken word theater project, “Say You Heard My Echo” has been selected as a 2011 Asian Women’s Giving Circle Grantee! Commissioned by Asian American Arts Alliance, the project explores three AAPI women dealing with faith and survival in a post-Sept. 11th NYC. Look out for its premiere in SEPT2011.

For all of May 2011, HBO on Demand is re-broadcasting “East of Main Street: Asians Aloud,” the doc that I was profiled in last year (click image to view trailer below)! Also, check out Part 2 featuring Black Eyed Peas’ apl.de.ap, chef Anita Lo, and pro skateboarder Willy Santos.
