On March 26, three individuals were kidnapped in Waziristan by a previously unknown group calling itself the “Asian Tigers”.
Then on April 30, authorities found the body of one of the hostages, Khalid Khwaja, a former squadron leader in the Pakistani air force who had also briefly served with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Attached to Khwaja’s bullet-ridden body was a note saying: “He was a CIA agent and we have kept our promise.”
