Alex Wubbels is one brave person

A Utah nurse Alex Wubbels was manhandled and arrested by police after she refused to draw blood from an unconscious patient. “In this Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, photo, nurse Alex Wubbels displays video frame grabs from SaltLake City Police Department body cams of herself being taken into custody, during an interview, in Salt Lake City. Officials at University of Utah Hospital where Wubbels was arrested after refusing to allow police to draw a patient’s blood are apologizing that security officers didn’t intervene and saying they’ve implemented policy changes.” PHOTO/AP/Google TEXT/Sacramento Bee

for most blacks and Hispanics, United States is a police state
because police have control over their youth, life, and fate
many folks, especially blacks, experience bullets and hell
and these victims of the unjust system are demonized as well

police power/brutality has been on the rise for a long time
but it rarely gets punished or shamed for these crimes
so the police gets more bold and indulge in more evil things
then cities settle suits which depletes their purse strings

electronic/social/print news media do show horrific police acts
so people are aware of police excesses and related facts
it is in these times that nurse Alex Wubbels took an ethical stand
to stop the law from drawing blood from an unconscious man’s hand

the party being refused blood was the police of Salt Lake City
who like most police forces, were devoid of decency and pity
Detective Jeff Payne flew into a rage because he couldn’t accept no
he forcefully arrested Alex and put her in handcuffs, you know

there will be internal investigations/reviews and filling of forms
but the one thing that won’t be happening is the reforms
same things will get repeated and we’ll make noises for change
government with all the power won’t do anything – nothing strange
