FEMEN topless activists protested in favour of independent judiciary in Ukraine. Two women, in topless fast-food workers outfits, climbed the roof of a van for transporting prisoners before being forcefully brought down by police officers.
The protest was provoked by the recent arrest of Ukraine’s former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko who was accused of corruption. Tymoshenko has been said to become the Ukraine’s Khodorkovsky after many saw current president Yanukovich’s political revenge behind Tymoshenko’s arrest.
FEMEN, however, do no stand behind Tymoshenko; the activists are looking for a middle ground. They are said not to be in good terms with the former premier. FEMEN are against the Tymoshenko trial being presented as a fight of good and evil when, in fact, FEMEN activists argue, it is a fight of two criminal groups, both disinterested in the population.
