Mother’s day is around the corner.

And for everyone it means something special.

There are a lot of extra feelings for those, who left their mothers far away and settled abroad.

There are only 13 Lithuanians living permanently in Delhi. They get to celebrate birthdays and bigger festivals together, but when the mothers day is getting closer, there is suddenly a pose…each heart overflowed with love and nostalgia for the Mother and Motherland left miles away…this gets mixed with gratitude feeling for the new Mother India who now embraces them as her own..

When a small child get separated from the mother, feeling of being helpless, lost and vulnerable suddenly comes in…and child is always searching for the mother.

When we grow up and changed the countries our childhood anxieties return to us again…

So the exhibition is born of nostalgia and Love to the mothers in Lithuania, Motherland Lithuania…

A glimps of what is each of us is feeling/missing is captured in these pictures. For some its- grandmothers call for a freshly baked bread, or the sight of blue sky touching the blanket of snow at the horizon, maneuvering boat thought the loops of the river, a red castle in the midst of the lakes…or the dizzying scent of ‘bijunas’ (peony) blossom.

Exhibition is powered by India Miles tours & travel p ltd, Vishaka Communications, Habitat Academy and Rosemetals.

Few facts about Lithuania:

Lithuania is located in the Eastern part of Europe on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Latvia, Belarus, Poland and Russia are the neighbors of Lithuania.

Country is the member of the EU and NATO since 2004, also member in the WTO and Schengen area since 2008.

Climate is between maritime and continental. Average temperature in July is 23°C, and average temperature in January is -5°C. One can enjoy the beauty of changing nature during all four seasons in the year.

Lithuania is linked to India by the roots of Lithuanian language:

The Lithuanian language is the Baltic group and forms part of the Indo-European family. Lithuanian and Latvian are the only surviving Baltic languages, and the Lithuanian is the most archaic of them, as it’s grammatical form has preserved the forms of old Indo-European languages. The rich Lithuanian language is of huge scientific importance as it has preserved a number of features proper to the old proto language while it’s grammar has much in common with Sanskrit.

Also, Lithuania was a last pagan state in Europe.
