After reading coverage about the controversy over Muslim girls’ rights to wear headscarves in schools, I was struck by a recent announcement from Thailand’s Department of Export Promotion and the National Federation of Thai Textile Industries, the organizers of Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair (aka BIFF&BIL, aka the Bangkok version of London Fashion week), that they will use the trade fair to launch a new mini-exhibit, “Unveil the Muslim Way of Life“, showcasing Muslimah fashion.
Catchy title, ain’t it?
