March 21, first day of Spring season
is also a beginning of a New Year
for Alawites, Bahais, Ismailis, Kurds, Parsis, Persians, and others

in the US, the new season began few weeks back
with the climatic celebration initiated on March 19
its the first Wartime season of this century’s second decade
the bloodhounds and vampires
in the form of pundits, generals, secretaries, analysts, etc.
current, former, and retired
Paul Wolfowitz, Fouad Ajami, Jamie Rubin, Robin Wright, …
are filling up the TV screens and time

(Patrick Buchanan, George Will, …
are not in favor of the war)

reporters are doing their “objective” duty
by asking: why is there no intervention in Bahrain?
or Yemen?
the answer: We go case by case
each country is different
Bahrain is an ally, strategically important
no followup questions
objectivity achieved, chapter closed

then comes the question?
are we going to get Gaddafi
and the viewers can notice the thirst for blood
in the talks of
the anchor persons, reporters and the experts

in between the talks
the reporters and anchorpersons reinforce
their own and that of their guests’ lies

during the weekend
there were constant painful reminders:
French planes were the first to penetrate the Libyan air space
the US ego was hurt
but mostly its the US war
out of the 122 missiles fired
only two were British
the rest belonged to the US

no questions are raised:
how can these three former colonial powers
the current bloodsuckers of the developing countries
and their own own people
Britain, France, and the US
talk about moral values?

the Wartime season is the best time
to learn the ABC to XYZ of Propaganda
because this is the time when
all the bloodhounds and vampires pop out

this is the best time to learn the techniques of “objectivity”
for those who intend to join the dominant, i.e., mainstream, media
without wasting tons of money on journalism schools
