The municipality of Utrecht wants one of the city’s coffeeshops to grow its own cannabis. The coffeeshop won’t have any customers, just members. For every member, five plants will be grown in the nursery. The greater the number of members, the greater the number of plants.
The nursery will then supply the coffeeshop with the cannabis, and the members will be able to purchase the week back in the knowledge that it was grown without fertilisers and that it’s not too strong. Utrecht also hopes the plan will help reduce the crime associated with weed.
