Dear friends,

American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) is a leading Muslim charity organization based in USA. It has also an office in Kadi, Gujarat, India. Dr. Abdur Rahman Nakedar a USA based cardiologist, conceived this organization in 1989.

Muslims in India have very low education. Muslim masses are illiterate and remain very poor. For lack of talent, many do not find employment and indulge in unlawful activities. To change all that, every year Dr. Nakedar and his colleagues tour different cities across India and motivate Muslims advance in Education and other fields.

On 29th December 2010, Dr. Abdur Rahman Nakedar and other AFMI members, Dr. Aslam Abdullah from Los Angeles, Dr. Tajuddin Ahmed from Springfield, Ohio, Dr. Shakir Mukhi from New York, Mr. Alibhai Quraishi from New Mexico, Mr. Shafi Lokhandwala from Michigan, and Dr Iqbal ahmed from Cleveland visited our Fatambu Center run by our Roshan Safar Waqf trust. We had arranged a town hall meeting and had invited eminent community leaders, corporaters, judges, police officers, politicians, media, and public to listen to Dr. Nakedar and his colleagues’ words of wisdom. We received a tremendous response; the hall could fill only about 25% of the crowd, rest waited outside.

The event received very good media coverage. TV and printed in newspapers broadcasted it.
