PoK girl crosses over J&K via LoC, repatriated

Beaten by her husband, a woman from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) today crossed over to Indian side along the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir before being sent back.

Naziya Kousher had a quarrel with her husband Nadeem Ahmed at her home in Polus village close to LoC in Bandi Shah Abbas forward area in PoK and was beaten up by him, Army officials said.

Angry over the beating, she crossed the LoC into Makhi post into Poonch district of J&K and was apprehended by Army troops, they said adding that she narrated the entire tale to them.

The army offered water and meals to her and later contacted Pak counter parts, they said adding that as friendly gesture in view of Ramzan, she was repatriated back to POK. She complimented the Indian army for the good gesture shown to her and prayed for them.
