US opposition/support of walls

in June 1987, US President Ronald Reagan said:

“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

the Berlin Wall – which split Germany into East Germany/West Germany

was also a sign of a greater division

between the Soviet Union led Eastern Block and US led Western Block

the Wall did come down on November 9, 1989

not because of Reagan but because of the Soviet leader Michail Gorbachev

Gorbachev began major changes in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

with his policies of Glastnost (Openness) and Perestroika (restructuring)

Reagan’s goal in uniting Berliners didn’t have any humane angle to it

it was purely an imperialist move to open East Europe to US corporations

and turn Russia into a playground for US capitalists and politicians

to quite a degree, the US succeeded in breaking up Russia’s state control

but then Vladimir Putin took over and stop the US moves

to celebrate 30 years of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Pompeo is in Germany

who could better represent the US hypocrisy than Mike Pompeo

he praised leaders who had faith in “God” “Human dignity” “free peoples”

and the United States Secretary of State warned:

“But as we celebrate, as we take this victory lap, we must also recognize that freedom is never guaranteed.  We spoke to this.  It doesn’t just happen.  Today, authoritarianism is just a stone’s throw away.  It’s rising.  And if we’re honest, it never really went away completely.”

for sure, the Germans wouldn’t have missed the irony of the above crap

back in the US, Pompeo’s boss is hell bent on becoming an authoritarian

Trump divides families, builds walls, and curbs freedoms
