Further She Wrote by Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai

Very excited to announce the digital release of my 2nd spoken word album FURTHER SHE WROTE – As a THANK YOU to all the magnificent and kind folks who’ve supported my work over the years, the 1st 200 downloads are free. Plus, the digital album will be “name your price” (so essentially free!) for the rest of 2010.

Feel free to fwd and spread the word!

11 poems, produced by Black Cracker: “Black, White, Whatever…”, “Real Women I Know,” “Self-Centered,” “Kindness over Genius” and more re-imagined with music, plus a few lesser known joints that felt right to bring to life on the album.

Lots of good energy, vibes, and artistic/cultural/political family during NOV2010 at the University of Connecticut (11/10), University of Texas – San Antonio (11/18), and Loyola University in New Orleans (11/19). Just got back from working with the good people of the Leeway Foundation in Philadelphia, which supports women and trans artists committed to social change.

Overall, 2010 has been a year of massive transition that has brought memorable blessings including performing with Harry Belafonte for one of Howard Zinn’s last public appearances, being honored by my alma mater (UIUC) as this year’s Outstanding Asian American Alumni, being a part of HBO’s “Asians Aloud” documentary, and featuring at over 45 performances in CA, CO, CT, DC, IA, IL, IN, TX, MA, NC, NM, NY, LA, and PA.

Thankful? Yes. Ready to take it to the next level in 2011? Most definitely.

My deepest gratitude to you for reading, sharing, and believing in the power of people, positive social change, and spoken word.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Blessings,
Kelly
