Nothing to fear, if nothing to hide

by B. R. GOWANI

Mark Zuckerberg of the Facebook was Time magazine’s Person of the Year 2010. SOURCE/Google

every authoritarian wants total control
and wants your personal info on a scroll
Facebook, Google, and others are no distinct
to government and advertisers they’re linked

rulers and their advisers are a dangerous lot
and on freedom of expression are a giant blot
Eric Schmidt, Mark Zukerberg are treacherous too
and can any minute screw him, they, or even you

“I do not understand your question,” can you repeat
or should I say with utmost respect, please bleat
replied Zuckerberg when asked about user’s privacy
and whether their data is stored in safe secrecy

“Those who have nothing to hide, have nothing to fear”
so said Zuckerberg on a question about his sphere
we’re world’s kings with almost total control over it
me, and other IT giants, including our Eric Schmidt

power intoxication made Schmidt puke a similar wisdom
back in 2009, from the top of his Google Kingdom
“something that you don’t want anyone to know,”
you shouldn’t do it “in the first place,” got it Joe

if the tables are turned and they’re in dock
in no time, from the rooftop they’ll squawk
they’ll lecture about the benefits of free press
and will beg to end this unjustly suffocating mess

they’ll have tens of thousands of things to hide
and the crimes committed in their success stride
the partners and friends deceived to reach the top
and the government taxes pocketed with a mop
